Entry-Level (Level 2)

Care Worker

Care workers help vulnerable people manage their daily activities and live as independently as possible.

Shared Lives Carer

As a shared lives carer, you’ll open up your home and family life to include someone who needs care and support.

Support Worker

Supporting people who draw on care and support to be able to live their lives, this may involve aspects of personal care, support with everyday life or supporting them to live independently.

Personal Assistant

You’ll work directly with one or more individuals to help them with various aspects of their daily life, to help them live as independently as possible.

Step-up (Level 3)

Senior Care Worker

Senior care workers provide physical and emotional support to individuals and supervise teams of care assistants.

Activity Worker

An activity support worker is an entry-level care role where you’ll organise social activities for people who need support.

Rehabilitation Worker

You’ll support people to live independently, often following an illness or accident, and help them access support or with general life skills such as housing and cooking.

Reablement Worker

Reablement workers help people who have recently been discharged from hospital or who have experienced a decline in their health.

Further Progression (Level 4)

Team Leader

Team leaders are responsible for providing leadership, planning, organisation, and supervision to ensure effective day-to-day running of teams.

Care Coordinator

You will be responsible for coordinating a person’s care across all areas of health and social care as well as housing and employment support.

Counsellor

Provide emotional support to help people overcome challenges for example bereavement, living with a long term condition or drug or alcohol addiction.

Experienced (Level 5)

Registered Manager

A registered manager is a person responsible for the day-to-day running of a care home or domiciliary care service.

Regulated Professional Roles

Social Worker

You’ll offer counselling and advocacy to individuals and families, and intervene when vulnerable people need safeguarding.

Occupational Therapist

You’ll work with people with physical, mental or social disabilities to help them do everyday activities.

Specialist Coordinator

Specialist coordinators could work in care homes, or on a wider scale in a local authority, health or voluntary sector organisation.
