Additional Care Roles
Each of these care roles play an important part in enhancing the well-being and quality of life for individuals who need it.
These care roles require relevant qualifications which could include an undergraduate degree or a diploma, or you may need to be registered with a regulatory body to practice.

Social Worker
You’ll offer counselling and advocacy to individuals and families, and intervene when vulnerable people need safeguarding.

Counsellor
Provide emotional support to help people overcome challenges for example bereavement, living with a long term condition or drug or alcohol addiction.

Specialist Coordinator
Specialist coordinators could work in care homes, or on a wider scale in a local authority, health or voluntary sector organisation.

Occupational Therapist
You’ll work with people with physical, mental or social disabilities to help them do everyday activities.
